To grow these fresh seeds, sow them at any time of year, but be aware that storing them will put them into a dormant state. To encourage germination, cover the seeds with 5mm of damp compost or grit and keep the pot moist in a cool location or refrigerate it for about 4 weeks. Germination is slow, typically taking place between 5-10°C, and can take up to a year to occur. Be sure not to expose the seeds to warm temperatures, as this will prevent germination. When ready, plant the seeds out in the spring in a well-prepared bed.
